Obtaining her RPL is a significant milestone that marks her transition from student to aviator. Urooj, a Holmes Aviation student, recently experienced this unforgettable achievement. We had the opportunity to interview Urooj as she shared her insights on obtaining her RPL and the challenges she had to overcome.
“During my solo flights, it felt like I accomplished something.”
Since beginning her aviation studies, Urooj has embraced the discipline and dedication required to succeed. To build the confidence to obtain her RPL successfully, she had to develop a good habit of managing her time well and putting effort into theory. “I feel more relaxed and at ease when I’m in the control seat now,” she shares, reflecting on the confidence she has built.
Urooj acknowledges the importance of preparation and study. After completing her RPL she advises aspiring aviators to study not only practical knowledge but also theory.
“Don’t be nervous. Believe in yourself and just be confident.”
For those beginning their aviation journey, Urooj offers a piece of encouragement to never doubt yourself. Her words resonate with many students who may feel the pressure of learning to fly solo. Confidence is the key to making steady progress.
“I feel really supported by Holmes Institute.”
One of the most important aspects of successfully obtaining her RPL was having the right support system. “The relationship I have with my instructors is really strong” she shares. Feeling supported by her instructors has made a significant difference in her training experience.
“I’m most excited about getting my PPL & CPL, and being able to fly my family or friends abroad.”
As Urooj continues her aviation journey, she remains focused on the path ahead. With her RPL behind her, she is now preparing for the next steps toward obtaining her Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and eventually her Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
